The Marangu route on Kilimanjaro
[spacer height=”20px”]
The first of five routes that we will talk about
[spacer height=”20px”]
When looking to hike up Kilimanjaro one of the most important things will be choosing the right route for you and your fellow adventure seekers. For many years The Marangu route was the most popular route, and in fact this was the first route to be designed for hiking up Kilimanjaro.
These days 5 routes are on offer, with 3 different summit approaches, either via Kibo or via Barafuu and lastly via the Arrow glacier ascent.
If your choice is to take the Marangu route, you will have chosen the most comfortable route of all, as sleeping will be in huts compared to tents for all the other route. Not that it helps with acclimitization, this route is also the shortest way to the top via Kibo huts and Gillman’s point.
